    Editorial of Issue 40

The Editorial Board of the North African Economies Journal is pleased to present to its esteemed readers the fortieth issue of the Journal, continuing a steadfast scientific journey towards promoting rigorous research in the fields of economics, development, and public policies, with a particular focus on issues pertaining to the Euro-Mediterranean area, Africa, and the Arab world.

This issue reflects an epistemological and methodological diversity that combines theoretical analysis with applied study, addressing contemporary topics related to logistics performance, maritime transport, digital transformation, microfinance, quality of banking services, smart governance, and sustainable tourism development. It is further distinguished by contributions from researchers from Algeria, Iraq, Sudan, Egypt, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Tanzania, thereby strengthening the journal's international dimension and opening broader horizons for South-South and North-South scientific exchange.

The issue opens with a study on the "Analysis of Logistics Performance in Euro-Mediterranean Countries: Reality and Challenges," which sheds light on the position of these countries within global supply chains and the structural challenges they face. Another study discusses the "Impact of the Transport Sector in Iraq - The Maritime Sector as a Model," highlighting the importance of maritime transport in supporting economic activity and enhancing integration into international trade.

In the financial domain, one research paper addresses the "Factors Affecting Customer Satisfaction with Electronic Banking Services in Sudanese Commercial Banks," reflecting the digital transformations within the banking industry. Another study discusses the "Expansion of Microfinance as an Approach to Enhancing the Financial Sustainability of Commercial Banks" through an applied case study, highlighting the role of financial inclusion in achieving a balance between profitability and social responsibility.

Interest extends to the field of governance through a study on the "Requirements for Implementing Smart Regulatory Governance in Saudi Sports Institutions," within the context of institutional transformation based on digitalization and efficiency. In the developmental context, the issue includes a collection of studies on sustainable tourism development in Algeria and the experiences of Euro-Mediterranean countries, linking theoretical dimensions with practical application and anticipating prospects for sector development in light of national strategic plans and Vision 2030.

The issue also features three articles in English, reflecting the journal's openness to the international scientific community. One examines the "Influence of the Reliability Dimension of Service Quality on Customer Satisfaction in Tanzanian Banks," another explores the "Role of Digital Transformation in Promoting Sustainable Tourism in Algeria under the Tourism Master Plan Framework (Vision 2030)," and a third reviews how to "Leverage Euro-Mediterranean Experiences to Support Sustainable Tourism Development in Algeria."

We, at the Editorial Board, believe that this thematic and geographical diversity reflects the vitality of economic research in the region and strengthens the journal's position as a scientific platform contributing to knowledge production and directing academic discourse towards issues of sustainable development, digital transformation, and good governance.

In conclusion, the Editorial Board extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to the researchers who have enriched this issue with their work, to the esteemed reviewers for their valuable scientific efforts, and to all readers and interested parties who continue to support the journal and trust in its scientific path. We also affirm our commitment to continuously developing publication standards and enhancing the quality of content, in line with the economic and social transformations witnessed in our region.

Allah is the Grantor of success.

Dear Researchers and Esteemed Readers, Greetings,

The editorial board of the Journal of North African Economies is pleased to present to its dear readers Issue (39), which contains a distinguished collection of peer-reviewed academic research that sheds light on a range of pressing economic, administrative, and accounting issues in our contemporary world.

This issue is diverse in its themes and rich in its subjects. It begins with an in-depth study on analyzing the root causes of oil revenue fluctuations in Iraq using a rigorous scientific methodology. It also addresses several pivotal issues such as the relationship between inflation and economic growth in Iraq, the mechanisms and challenges of financing in Islamic banks, and envisioning the future prospects of the Islamic financial services industry half a century after its establishment.

The issue continues to present its research by addressing the impact of the regulatory environment on accounting information systems in Syria, the role of internal control in improving the quality of financial reports in Sudan, and the analysis of liquidity quality indicators according to international standards in Algeria. The issue also presents studies on satellite accounts for non-profit institutions and innovative methods for scheduling human resources in the health sector.

In the English-language research section, the issue presents highly important topics, including models of economic cooperation in the energy sector between Spain and Algeria, the role of leadership in implementing strategic plans in local governments in Tanzania, the challenges of employability skills in Libyan higher education, a critique of perspectives on the Mode of Production theory, and finally, the relationship between corporate governance and financial performance in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

We hope that this issue will be a qualitative addition to the academic library, a useful reference for researchers and students, and a contribution to enriching knowledge and developing scientific solutions for the economic, financial, and administrative challenges that concern specialists and decision-makers.

The journal management extends its deepest gratitude and appreciation to all the researchers who contributed their valuable work, and to the scientific peer-review committee for their diligent efforts in evaluating the research. We ask God Almighty to grant us all success in serving science and knowledge.

And God is the Guardian of Success.
