Abstract

The present paper examines the concepts of Pierre Bourdieu’s sociological theory and the terms
that have sprung from it, as well as how these terms have been transplanted into the field of
translation. In order to set and conceptualize the translational term, this paper also addresses
questions of translation sociology and issues raised by Jean-Marc Gouanvic relating to
traductology and its relationship to sociology.
