The impact of Information & Communication Technology and Research & Development on economic growth in Algeria during the period (1990-2022)

Abstract

This research aim to analyze and measure the impact of Information & Communication Technology and Research & Development on economic growth in Algeria during the period (1990-2022). We used theARDL model, as result we find that is there is a long-run relationship between the variables. However, none of the following variables has a significant impact on economic growth in Algeria: mobile cellular telephone subscriptions, internet users, patent applications, or scientific and technical journal articles. We find that there is a positive and significant short-run relationship between the number of articles, mobile subscriptions, and economic growth.
