The Effect of Financial Inclusion on the Jordanian Banks’ Profitability During the Period (2008-2019)

Abstract

The main aim of the current study was to detect the impact of financial inclusion’ indicators on Jordanian banks’ profitability using annual data of 13 commercial banks from 2008 to 2019. To achieve this goal we used the following different models of panal data (Pooled OLS, Fixed and Random effect).
We found a significant impact of FI on banks’ profitability when measured by net interest margin and ROA, although our study displays different results when considering the effect of FI variables separately. Thus, FI contributes to enhance the banks’ profitability.
