Speech therapy for children with cerebral palsy
Keywords:
Orthophonic Care – Cerebral PalsyAbstract
Cerebral palsy is considered one of the most common developmental neurological disabilities among children. It results from early damage to the central nervous system, affecting motor, linguistic, and cognitive control. Children with cerebral palsy often suffer from speech and language disorders, as well as difficulties in swallowing and communication. This makes speech and language therapy interventions essential to promote their educational and social integration.
Recent studies highlight the importance of enhancing communicative and linguistic competence in this population, whether through specialized pedagogical centers, private clinics, or hospitals. Findings emphasize that early multidisciplinary intervention plays a decisive role in improving the level of psychological, educational, and social adaptation of the child.
