The natural environment and its impact on human life from Ibn Khaldun's perspective

Abstract

ملخص:

يعتبر مفهوم البيئة من أهم المفاهيم، وأشملها، وأوثقها صلة بحياة الإنسان، الفكرية والاجتماعية، والثقافية، والطبيعية، ويكتسي الحديث عن البيئة الطبيعية وعلاقتها بحياة الإنسان أهمية بالغة بالنسبة لهذا الأخير؛ ذلك أن البيئة تؤثر ومن دون شك بمكوناتها وعناصرها وظروفها في رسم وتشكيل ملامح حياة الإنسان، وهذا ما تنبّه إليه الفلاسفة والمفكرون والعلماء على مر العصور وضمن هذا السياق تأتي مداخلتنا هذه، والتي نسعى من خلالها إلى الكشف عن مدى تأثير البيئة الطبيعية على حياة الإنسان من منظور العلامة العربي عبد الرحمن بن خلدون؛ صاحب الفكر الموسوعي، وهذا ما يكشف عنه مؤلفه الشهير المعروف بمقدمة ابن خلدون.

وبرؤية تحليلية متأنية ننتهي إلى نتيجة مفادها؛ أن الإنسان عند ابن خلدون هو ابن بيئته؛ فالطبيعة تتحكم في تحديد خصائص الإنسان الفيزيولوجية، وقدراته الفكرية، وصفاته الأخلاقية.

Abstract:

The concept of the environment is one of the most important, comprehensive, and closely connected to human life—intellectually, socially, culturally, and naturally. Discussing the natural environment and its relationship to human life is crucial, as the environment, with its components and conditions, undeniably shapes human life. This has been acknowledged by philosophers, thinkers, and scientists throughout history. In this context, our study aims to explore the impact of the natural environment on human life from the perspective of the Arab scholar Ibn Khaldun, as presented in his famous work Muqaddimah.

Through careful analysis, we conclude that, for Ibn Khaldun, humans are products of their environment; nature governs their physiological traits, intellectual abilities, and moral qualities.
