Abstract:
The research aims to study sustainable tourism development in developing countries and identify the key dimensions that influence it. A table was created containing 49 different previous studies from various years, drawn from scientific research in both Arabic and English. The research found three main dimensions that are essential: economic, social, and environmental. The economic dimension received the highest frequency among the other dimensions, with a total of 49 occurrences, representing 100% agreement among the researchers. The environmental dimension also had 49 occurrences, showing a 100% agreement, as seen with the economic dimension. Meanwhile, the social dimension had 48 occurrences, representing 97.9%. The remaining dimensions varied in frequency, ranging between 2% and 16.3%, which translates to a minimum of 1 occurrence to a maximum of 8 occurrences for dimensions like technological, institutional, and cultural.
The researcher recommends increasing specialized studies on sustainable tourism development in developing countries to achieve sustainable tourism in those nations.
