Acculturation from the literary journey to cultural tourism

الملخص

Abstract:
This study aims to trace the first roots of what is newly called cultural tourism by focusing on the basic concept on which the process of cultural communication is based: acculturation. The encounter between the self and the other cannot take place without human mobility, whatever its nature and purpose. The history of humanity in every part of the earth has witnessed many travels and trips whose purposes went beyond the basic human physiological needs to achieving the social needs and self-esteem that Maslow placed in 1943 at the top of his pyramid. Despite its elitist nature in most of its beginnings, these higher needs can be considered the first building block of cultural tourism. Gradually, the number of beneficiaries of this activity expanded across the ages, and the meeting became capable of bringing about social and economic changes and creating multi-faceted cultural dynamics and results that we will seek in this study to reveal and analyze in every detail.
