Abstract

Ethical values of Journalism is a necessity that the profession of journalism itself imposed due to its impact on life nowadays. Journalism is no longer a mere profession; it is so influential that it occupies a great space in our daily lives to the extant that if affects society, culture and their future insights and how it evaluates socio-cultural events.
Because of the pivotal role of journalism and all of the aforementioned notions, journalists are ought to be bounded by a professional grid constituting of ethical values and norms which cannot be disposed off in any human community. These ethical values are of paramount importance not only because they guide journalists but also because they shield societies. Abiding by these ethical values is crucial for the opposite could result in serious societal concerns. For this reason, a legislation regarding any violation of professional ethical values made by journalists must be put in place. There have been lawful rules like those of cyber-crimes, privacy protection and slander which fold as part of ethical values which guide journalists and protect societies.
